Cultures do not evolve, they devolve into deeper expressions of evil unless the Spirit of God is allowed to redirect the culture. Evidence of that descent is when evil masquerades as good.

Under that masquerading influence, Satan can convince believers to align with forms of evil thinking they are doing what is right.

It’s hard to convince someone, especially an errant believer, that what they promote is a journey into darkness, not freedom.

Paul had strong words to say when dealing with those under the influence of this masquerading spirit, “For Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve” (II Corinthians 11: 14-15).

The word “masquerade” is also translated as “disguise.”

It is changing the image of something, to transform it into what is acceptable. People under the influence of a masquerading spirit can look and sound like a speaker of truth, but they are bringing lies into the Church.

Not all we hear is true. I

t must be discerned through the lens of God’s word and under the leading of the Spirit. To assume something looks and sounds like the truth can be nothing more than a well-crafted lie created by Satan to deceive those who are spiritually naïve and believe the masquerade is the truth.
