I looked around at everything
Through tears that filled my eyes
I couldn’t fathom how I’d live
Things took me by surprise
How’d this happen, how and why?
And how much could I take?
I couldn’t even get some sleep
Each night I lay awake
The facts outweighed my hope and peace
The answers just weren’t there
The devastation so intense
Did anybody care?
I looked up to the sky above
And cried out Jesus name
How could you let this happen Lord?!
I placed on Him the blame
I hung my head in my despair
And cried out all the more
And couldn’t fathom getting through
To see my life restored
Then suddenly the sun came out
I felt the Master’s Hand
The darkness parted bit by bit
New Hope began to land
The answers filtered through the clouds
As one by one they came
And I began to live again
Though nothing was the same
Don’t think He doesn’t see or care
What you are going through
While you are focused on your pain
He’s focusing on you
While you are writhing in your pain
He’s working on it all
He’s not ignoring anything
No matter big or small
Our God is love, and doesn’t change
He’s always standing near
To hug and hold and help us through
And wipe away each tear
I won’t forget the memories
But most importantly
I will remember every day
How God came through for me
He’ll do the very same for you
And one day you will say
You too recall when Love showed up
And wiped your tears away
