We felt stirred to write you today with this word from heaven because we feel from the Lord that He wants to restore and replenish His people with His peace!

Be careful for nothing;

but in every thing by prayer and supplication

with thanksgiving

let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God,

which passeth all understanding,

shall keep your hearts and minds

through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-9

Here are FIVE KEY STEPS on how you can receive the peace of God in times of crisis, challenge, and turmoil:

1. Resist Worry

When you are facing fearful circumstances, similar to what we all experienced over the last several years, you MUST resist the temptation to worry. Take your mind off what appears to be happening. Put your thoughts back on God’s promises, even if you have to recite His promises again and again.

2. Take It to God in Prayer

This passage tells us to bring our requests before God’s throne in prayer. Make a prayer list, be specific, and do not miss your time with God to pray and bring your needs to Him. Hebrews 4:16 reminds us that we can come to His throne of grace and receive help in the time of our greatest need.

3. Always Give Thanks to God

Being continually thankful to the Lord keeps us soft and pliable in the hands of the Holy Spirit. It reminds us that no matter the challenge, God is not to blame, but rather He is the source of our help.

4. Keep Your Thoughts in Check

This means you will have to be vigilant about what you allow to take up residence in your thoughts. It can be easy when presented with negative news and reports to let your imagination run amuck with worry. Every time anxious thoughts arise, you must reject them and redirect your thoughts to the Lord or some other subject.

5. Put into Practice the Things You Already Know to Do

Finally, remember to put into practice everything you have learned to do from God’s Word. The temptation of the enemy is to throw off the very principles of faith you have learned. Stay on the course on what you know how to do and what you have learned before you faced the present trial.

When we do these five things, the Bible says that God’s peace will take over in our hearts and minds in a way that supersedes our understanding.
