I want to share a word that the Lord gave me several years ago. There is an old phrase that we have heard spoken of as “A Diamond in the rough” which is basically referring to someone who has talent, but they have not completed their training. This person may have exceptional characteristics and a lot of potential, but they are still in need of some final touches that would complete their lives.
The phrase is metaphorical and relates to natural diamonds which are created by going through a very demanding process.
A genuine diamond is a pure or nearly pure, extremely hard form of carbon (or charcoal) that has crystallized under extreme conditions, pressure and temperatures. The weight of the overlying rock bearing down is also necessary to grow diamond crystals in the earth. It is believed that diamonds were formed in the mantle and delivered to the surface by deep-source volcanic eruptions. When the diamond is formed, it is only recognized for its true beauty through the cutting and polishing process. It is then valued as a precious gem, and the hardest of all stones which will shine brilliantly.
The name diamond is derived from the ancient Greek word adámas which means "proper", "unalterable", "unbreakable", "untamed. Another definition says invincible or unconquerable. The Holy Spirit is showing me that many of you are in the process of development. You may not see the finished work, but each one of you are as a diamond in the rough. You are being carved, molded and perfected into His image. You may not understand the process of development, but soon you will experience the brilliancy of the Lords glory working in and through your lives.
A clarity will come forth when the flaws are removed. Your beauty and worth will come from the extreme pressure under which is formed, and the harsh process of cutting and polishing that are used to reveal your value. As we allow Jesus to polish us, and cut off any flaws and imperfections, we will learn how to become invincible, unbreakable and unconquerable in the kingdom of God. We will understand this deeper place with Him, and the hidden treasures from the word of God.
We will then become triumphant as the person that He has created us to be, as we radiate his brilliance as the body and bride of Christ. Today the Holy Spirit highlighted a powerful scripture from the book of Amos. This is from "The Message" translation.
Amos 9:13-15
“Yes indeed, it won't be long now.” God's Decree. Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won't be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings!
Some of you who feel as if you been a “diamond in the rough” refined through a difficult process, hold on, your breakthrough is imminent and it will come suddenly. It may have been years of unprecedented challenges, whether it was illness or finances, or difficult relationships, The Lord is about to set you free. He will give you beauty for ashes and the oil of joy for mourning. He will rebuild the old ruins and rebuild your life just as well.
Isaiah 61:2-3
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God. To comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning. The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they may be called trees of righteousness. The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
Philippians 2:13
For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
