On the First Day Of Spring .... It Snowed!

On a Snowy Day We Got Busy in The Kitchen and her is our Result!

What a way to start spring! So I got up early and managed to get many things done I was in be by 9pm.

I woke up at 5:30 AM and got straight to the lab.

With the dawn still breaking and the world slowly waking up, I felt a surge of motivation as I entered the lab, ready to embark on a new project.

I started making the new Hands On Lotion, and it's lovely. It's light and is not sticky, nor does it linger. The texture is just perfect for the season, providing hydration without the heaviness that often accompanies thicker creams. Three gone already, and I can see why—its refreshing scent and silky feel make it a delight to use on freshly awakened skin.

I had to make it because it was a request, so I just did it. The demand for this lotion had been growing, and I was eager to fulfill that need.

Each ingredient was carefully selected to ensure that it would not only nourish the skin but also bring a sense of joy and rejuvenation.

The process of blending the components together was satisfying, and I could already envision the smiles on the faces of those who would use it.

As the morning sun came up, I felt the chill in the air and started straight away to make bread.

The aroma of freshly baked bread is one of life’s simple pleasures, and it felt like the perfect way to welcome the new season. It was that kind of day, the kind where the air is crisp and invigorating, inspiring creativity and warmth.

After the dough was kneaded and set aside to rise, I took a moment to enjoy the quiet and the promise of the day ahead. After, I planted two grape trees in pots, envisioning the lush vines that would eventually flourish. Anyone else getting ready to plant the garden? It seems like the perfect time to start nurturing new life and preparing for the bounty of summer.

Well, I needed something to go with the bread and decided it was a chili day.

The thought of a hearty chili paired with warm, crusty bread was too tempting to resist. So I went to the freezer, retrieved some ground beef, and started to thaw it, knowing that this would be the foundation of a comforting meal.

In the meantime, I cut red peppers, yellow peppers, an onion, garlic, and some fresh oregano. The vibrant colors of the vegetables brightened my kitchen and filled the air with a delightful aroma.

Each chop and slice was a reminder of the fresh flavors that spring brings, and I took my time to enjoy the process of preparing the ingredients.

That didn't take long, so I started to make butter (I added a pinch of celtic salt and a teaspoon of maple syrup from our family farm). The rich, creamy texture of the homemade butter was a labor of love, and the hint of sweetness from the maple syrup would add a unique twist to the flavor. Topped off with edible flowers and spices ( Spices and Flowers from The Gardens )

While that was going, the ground beef was ready to put in the pot to brown, sizzling as it hit the hot surface.

I used celtic salt and a bit of olive oil to brown the meat, ensuring it was perfectly seasoned. The sound of the meat cooking was music to my ears, and I could almost taste the deliciousness that was to come.

Then I added the beans, a can of tomato paste, and the veggies and spices, stirring everything together to create a bubbling pot of chili.

The colors and aromas mingled beautifully, creating a dish that was not only hearty but also nourishing. Each ingredient played a role in building layers of flavor, and I couldn't wait to savor the final result.

And then Hubby calls and says he has to have a tooth pulled... UGH...

So now I'll make him asparagus soup... a comforting choice for a day that has suddenly taken a turn. I’ll whip up a creamy asparagus soup to help him feel better, knowing that a warm bowl of soup can be soothing and restorative. The day may have shifted unexpectedly, but I’m determined to make it a good one, filled with love and care.

Enjoy Spring
